Two Rivers Stone Boutique was founded by John Howell in 2023. When John and his wife went through a home remodeling project, they found the process to be overwhelming at times. They found themselves seeking a greater range of unique selections in more desirable environments with superior service than what the market had to offer.
John, a deeply rooted, native St. Louisan, who has spent most of his 30-year business career in marketing and customer experience at several of St. Louis’s preeminent companies, decided to create something special. A boutique experience and concierge service for homeowners, architects, fabricators and designers throughout the Midwest to shop the most elegant and distinctive stones from around the world. From that, the locally and family-owned Two Rivers Stone Boutique was born.
We’re the neighborhood boutique, right here in the heart of St. Louis.

About our Founder
John Howell, Jr. was born and raised in St. Louis and spent his entire professional career leading Sales, Customer Service, and Marketing teams. Prior to founding Two Rivers Stone Boutique, Howell held senior sales and marketing leadership roles with several Fortune 200 firms, including Procter & Gamble, Nestle Purina, Enterprise Holdings, and Centene Corporation.
Howell received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Vanderbilt University and his Master of Business Administration from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University. Howell is currently on the Ladue City Council and has previously served on boards at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, the St. Louis Zoo, and alumni boards at Washington University’s John M. Olin School of Business and MICDS.
Howell and his wife, Virginia, live in Ladue, MO, and enjoy family time with their three children and two dogs.
